Irish Songwriter Bernice Walsh Takes the Spotlight with a Special DOUBLE PLAY
Irish-born songwriter Bernice Walsh is celebrating the release of two new singles, “Merry Christmas My Darling” and “I Miss You”, both of which have now joined the radio playlist for a special DOUBLE PLAY feature at 6 PM Amsterdam Holland time for the next month.
Originally from the West of Ireland, Bernice brings a diverse musical background and a distinctive Celtic influence to her songwriting. Classically trained, with experience as a choir director and former member of a London band, she found the COVID-19 lockdown period an ideal opportunity to focus on songwriting and explore her creative potential.
Her music moves effortlessly between heartfelt classic ballads and funky, London-inspired jazz beats, often incorporating a Celtic twist that reflects her Irish roots and varied musical influences. Having spent many years in London, Bernice developed a broad musical perspective shaped by the city’s vibrant and eclectic music scene.
Her growing catalogue is showcased on SoundCloud, where listeners can discover more than 60 tracks spanning a wide range of genres and moods. Bernice has also recently ventured into directing her own digital music videos, which are available on her YouTube channel, @bernicewalsh-j9x.
Now based in the Jonzac area of southwest France, Bernice is looking to connect with local musicians who share her passion for jazz-funk and contemporary sounds. She hopes to form a band and bring musicians together for informal jam sessions and open-mic nights, particularly welcoming retired musicians who want to continue enjoying their musical journey.
Beyond music, Bernice works as a stroke rehabilitation therapist and chef nutritionist, bringing a varied professional background to her creative life.
With “Merry Christmas My Darling” and “I Miss You” now on the playlist, listeners have the opportunity to experience two sides of Bernice Walsh’s songwriting in a special DOUBLE PLAY, giving both new releases the spotlight they deserve.
